Brighter Choice Health and Gardening Program is a year-round program that helps students become prepared mentally, physically, emotionally and socially for life in middle school, high school, college and beyond. The mission of Health Ambassadors is to empower students to take charge of their health. Participants will learn about nutrition and metabolism; gain an understanding of food origins through farm and garden visits; learn to regulate their emotions through breathing; gain an appreciation for exercise as a lifelong daily routine.

Scholars Taught Resilience Integrityand Values with Excellence(S.T.R.I.V.E): The S.T.R.I.V.E. program teaches the skills needed to help build confidence, respect and character amongst our scholars, and help them become productive members of our school and the community.  As a result, scholars will gain skills and confidence in their ability to interact cooperatively and peacefully with others—which in turn will positively affect their academics.

CARE Through COPS (Children Achieving Reading Excellence Through Community Officers Promoting Success) Reading Program: This program allows Albany Police Officers, State Troopers, and other community helpers to come into our classrooms to read, listen to scholars read, engage in discourse, teach citizenship and the roles of Police Officers within the community, be mentors, partake in classroom celebrations and more. It allows our scholars to interact with influential males and females that are a positive impact on our community and also for these community members to circulate our building in order to see the great work that our scholars and educators are producing.
